Seven backdrops, driven by the real signal
STOCK is each machine's own look. BARS is a spectrum analyser. WAVE draws the waveform. AURORA moves bands of colour with the energy of the track. STREAM pours light with the beat. PULSE breathes with the level. RGB lights the room in colour. They read an FFT of the audio after the sound chain, so they follow what you actually hear.
Six displays on the digital player
The digital player turns its whole screen into a display you tap to cycle: CLOCK, BARS, DOTS (a dot matrix with every unlit dot still there), WAVE, RINGS and VU meters.
Thirteen rooms on the Mac
On the Mac each machine sits in a photographed room with lamps that breathe on the beat, or in one of twelve other backdrops: a synth floor, falling light, neon tubing around the frame, an orbiting spectrum, embers. The lamp colour behind the keys is yours to pick. See MP95 for Mac.
Meters, needles and reels that measure
The visualizer is not only the backdrop. VU meters on the reel and cassette decks read the level in decibels with real ballistics; reels wind at the true speed of the tape; the tonearm tracks the side. Nothing in MP95 is a looping animation pretending to follow the music.

Frequently asked questions
Which players have the visualizer?
The FX chip with STOCK, BARS, WAVE, AURORA, STREAM, PULSE and RGB is available on the cassette, vinyl, reel-to-reel and disc players. The digital player has its own six display modes.
Does the visualizer work with any song?
Yes. It analyses the audio in real time, so it works with any file you play in MP95.
Is the visualizer free?
STOCK is free on the free machines. The other backdrops are part of MP95 Pro.
